Restarting in the Midst of Trials
James 1:2 ISV Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you are involved in various trials,
If we read this text with our natural mind, it is difficult to understand it because; we don’t feel fortunate or joyful during the tribulations and trials.
1 Peter 4:12 NASB Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you;
We have to be clear that the trials will come, and God will not give us a greater trial that, what we can bear. God knows the load and the extent of our trial and says, that alongside with the trial comes the way out.
The Enemy's attack to Marriage
Since the beginning of time the enemy has attacked families and marriages, trying to steal their peace and harmony of homes, which can be broken son easily; and when it is broken the stability of the home is lost. When there are difficulties in a marriage and the souses are in conflict, the pillars of the house are destabilized and children perceive all this, in this way as marriage we need to counter the enemy´s attack against the family.
The enemy does not rest, and when we are wane in searching the Lord, the enemy takes advantage to send us darts and attack us, turning us into a target for sin, most of all if we are out of God´s will.
Eph 5:31 KJ2000 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
Wars of the Last Century
The Lord Jesus, during His ministry here on earth, traced a eschatological panorama for us which would obviously serve for us to know about the nearness of His coming in secret. We find this eschatological panorama precisely in the Gospel of Matthew chapter 24, which Bible scholars have called “The Sermon of the Mount of Olives” since it was exactly where the Lord Jesus was when He was describing the signs that will happen at the end of times. Now, this must not be confused with the Sermon of the Mound describe in the Gospel of Matthew chapter 5, where the Lord speaks to us about the beatitudes.
The Bible teaches us when our Lord Jesus Christ returns to earth, it will be precisely on the Mount of Olives where he will place His feet, obviously this is in His second coming.
Matthew 24:4-6 And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. 5 For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ’, and they will lead many astray. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet.
When Things Worsen
The Bible describes the servers and sons of God, who walked in the right pathway before the Lord; however, at certain moment they began to live and experience very difficult situations that made them sad; to the point of defeated.
Probably some could feel identified with this message, because they are going through difficult situations; for example: economic situations, health deterioration, family problems, or job problems, that instead of getting better they worsen as time goes by. Moments as before described, are those used by the enemy to confuse our minds and make us lose faith in the promises that God has prepared beforehand for our lives, and, that hope we have in God get’s affected.
In the last few days, a series of events have been happening which ought not to be minimized by the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, since they are marked in the eschatological clock, the glorious return of our Beloved Jesus, in His parousia. One of those events is what happened in the Eastern territory of Ukraine, where a Malaysian airplane (flight MH17) was shot down with a missile; among the passengers on it there were over a hundred scientists, who were making studies about HIV/AIDS. It is said that these scientists probably were carrying with them the cure for this disease.
According to the news, the culprits of this tragedy are a group named “pro Russian rebels”. All of this leads us to wonder, why was this airplane brought down? Why would the culprits of this event want to destroy something that would benefit the whole human race? There are several causes for this.
The Snare of the Fowler III
Psa 91:1 KJV He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
The previous verse is the prevention of the snare, because if the snare of the secret place of the most High which prevent us to catch us.
Psa 91:3 KJV Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
Psa 124:7 KJV Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
Here we see that the snare catch many but their soul escaped from the snare of the fowlers, that is the curative medicine.
The fowlers have being always the antithesis of the fishermen.
The Snare of the Fowler II
On the first part of today’s study we analyze Psalm 91; which says that the Lord will deliver us from the snare of the fowler and on Psalm 124 it is describe if this snare already trapped us, it could be broken in the name of the Lord. God gives us preventive and curative medicine.
We also read in the Bible the prototypes of the fowlers, among them Nimrod, Saul, Esau and the ones mentioned in Jeremiah 16:16, that are sent to Israel after they rejected the fishermen. Those fishermen are those who announce the gospel of the Lord to everyone so they receive Him and accept Him, since they didn’t do so they have to face the fowler. This is a Biblical principle because the Lord said: I was sent by my Father (as fisherman) didn’t receive, there will come another one in his own name (the fowler) and you will receive him. The fowler is a figure of the enemy the antichrist and the fisherman is the figure of our Lord, that is why we read in the gospel that the Lord was an expert fisherman; He told His disciples where to fish, and where to find the fish with the coin to pay the tax, also when He resurrected He introduce Himself as a fisherman, He prepared fish to eat. The Lord is a fisherman and the enemy a fowler and it is in us to decide to whom we will face. The Lord tells us: I will make you fishermen not fowlers.
The Snare of the Fowler I
From the beginning of humanity there have been hunters over this land and we know that, spiritually, that God doesn’t like them. In Jeremiah 16:16, describing Israel God told them: “I will send you Fishermen and then hunters”, we understand that first He was sending an opportunity, sending the fishermen, that are the evangelists, however Israel rejected the one who was sent, the Lord Jesus Christ, but by the mercy of God, this meant for us, the gentiles, that were included in this wonderful catch. When Israel didn’t obey and rejected the Lord, God decided to send them hunters. If we make a time line: we know that from the first coming of the Lord; up the 70th week of Daniel, God has constantly sent fishermen to the people of Israel, but they rejected, because they reject everything that is called “Christian”, because for them this name represents the catholic religion, because of the crusades and all the atrocities they made against them. But we know that everything that happens to Israel is a shadow for us, the ones who were called to be closed to God.
Going into the Kingdom
As born-again Christians, our goal should be to be transform, until we get to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; otherwise we could not engage into that, to which we were called for.
Romans 11:24 NASB For if you were cut off from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these who are the natural branches be grafted into their own olive tree?
This verse says that: we were spiritual grafted in our Lord Jesus Christ, in such a way that we cannot stagnate and remain in the same condition, but we must advance in our transformation.
The Restoration of the Old Gate
As a church our target is working in the restoration and as we have seen, it is a harder process than edifying something new. For instance, if we take a ten years old child to educate him it would be harder than if we take a newborn child in our home to implant our customs. Then we talk about edify and restore these are parallel things, although they are not the same, as we said, restore is a harder process and it is he Lord who can do the work to recover the lost things.
When we talk about physical work as building a temple, we must not lost of sight that the real objective is edify the mystic body of Christ, that at the end of all is the most important thing. The tool that God gave to us the ministers to guide the flock is the voice; we can confirm this when we read in the Bible: “…My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me…”
The restoration theme is almost endless, and it demand us to examine many factors, such as: what is what we have to restore? Who will be restored and how will they be restored? The restoration cannot be made by our own strength, but will only be possible through the power of the Holy Ghost.
